About Chris McGregor
A white South African pianist who formed the legendary Blue Notes with Black musicians in apartheid-era Cape Town. Forced into exile, he founded the Brotherhood of Breath in London, blending South African township jazz with free jazz into an explosive, boundary-breaking sound.
